Jungles and Leeches

Went jungle trekking yesterday at FRIM. Started out like this:

Nick(over the phone) : Eh, cancelled la. Raining.
Me : Ok. (proceeded to enjoy a long and luxurious breakfast)
20 minutes later.....

Shern : Yuva, meet you at Kepong station at 8.50
Me : OI!! Cancelled la.
Shern : Back on. Leave your house by 8.30
Me : (looks at the time...8.25....) WTF!!!...*stuffs toast into mouth, burns throat and tongue with hot coffee and runs out*

Met Shern and Jun Sheng at the station by 9.25, Kar Wai drove us the rest of the way. I believe of us all....Caleb was the most prepared. Insect repellent (spray AND lotion), salt for leeches, DSLR camera, big bag.

Neways, met up with Yvonne, Caleb,Nick, two of nick's pals (Vincent and the other dude whose name i can't remember......sorry nick, terrible at names). We hit the trail by 10.00 and reached the canopy walkway by 11.00am. Bloody place was muddy and inevitably, swarming with.........
>LEECHES

Didn't complete the trail though. Had to trek back to the cars to get the food. I believe thanks are in order so...

To Yvonne: Thanks for the mee you cooked and the soya bean drink
To Nick : Sandwiches were good mate.
Wei Kiat : Loved the doughnuts and the nasi lemak
Jun Sheng, Kar Wai, Shern, Wei Kiat, Nick: For conquering Mount FRIM with me.

Decided to picnic at the waterfall. Reached some old pondok at the top, then changed picnic spots THRICE. Finally settled on the sandy mini-island. Then, it started raining..........

Finally settled down at a new pondok (place is full of pondoks) and dug in. Loads of stuff to eat.....started wishing JJ was there with his bottomless stomach and his *waste-not* attitude.

On full stomachs, we made the decision to conquer Mount FRIM:

Yeah, we got an ego boost from climbing Mount FRIM

Okies, on to pictures then:

Thinking of how to cook the giant fish......i'll all for steaming

Group pic, 50m up in the air

Shern....overcoming his fear of heights

The Cameraman......in one of his rare moments without the DSLR

Gollum is in our midst

No trip is complete without our very own moral support
