I'm sick of strawberries....and damn tea.

Its red...

Its juicy..

It smells good...

And i hate it now.....

Went to Cameron Highlands bout 5 days ago, came back on Saturday. I didn't really have high hopes for the place. The online websites carried pics of tudor style buildings(gave me the impression of english wanna-be kind of place) and lots and lots of strawberries(they're sour, so you can't really get excited by the prospect of getting them really cheap) and my pals all said "there isn't really much to do there" so, yeah i wasn't all the enthusiastic about it and all.

The original plan was to take a trip to Bali, but was cancelled has dad could only take off for about 4 days and that aint enough time to get there, enjoy and get back. So, yeah, we went somewhere we've never been before.

Ok, lets start with the hotel. S.U.C.K.E.D. period.

But that's not the general case there. Its our fault actually for doing it all last minute and getting a crappy place. Lets move elsewhere now.

You do get fabulous places to stay at, as we quickly found out on our rounds of the place. Pics of The Lakehouse

The Lakehouse hotel.

My vacation home in Scotland will have this staircase

why its called the Lakehouse

The Lakehouse was pretty good. Prices were pretty good too. Fancy RM700 a night during peak season? If you do go, go during the off season (any time of the year apart from December), its waaaaay cheaper.

The whole place was done in english Tudor style, and according to Dad, it was very accurate. Timber everywhere, roof beams, support columns, the works.

Nice. Dad's eyes went wide.

There are two things you inevitably do when you get to CH, eat strawberries until you're sick of them, and forego coffee for tea.

Strawberries are ok i guess. Never really cared for them, cos they're sour. But i did stuff myself with this:

Yeah, its not exactly fresh cream, but who cares??? Its one of my face stuff! Whipped cream, and its good on anything, including nasty sour berries.

Tea press

Ok, to tell the truth, there isn't really much to do in CH, its more of a relaxing kind of place, you know, sit back, have a cup of tea, have cakes, read the paper, turn off your mobile, bla bla bla.

You could do the tourist thing. Visit BOH's tea plantation, have tea like so:

Tea is not good. Trust me on this one. You want really good tea? Get the Sri Lankan one or the Indian tea, not the weak BOH stuff. Cakes were not bad though.

You could visit the strawberry farms, but then again, not much to see there, cept pig out on strawberries and cream, i like the cream more.

And, if you really want to something fun, go jungle trekking. I didn't bring my camera along, so no pics of it. But its bloody good. I mean real trekking, no path or anything, just loads of vegetation and mud..and you hardly sweat too it being cold and all. You don't see any insects either. Mud's too cold.

Apart from that, there isn't really much to do in CH. Its like Fraser's Hill, minus the archery range and horse riding.........and the better hotels.

Did i have a good time though?

have to say yes. Just get a better hotel, and you'll enjoy it more.
